2019-2021 Governor’s Recommended Budget Invests in Early Learning and Development

"Investing in Early Learning and Development Invests more than $95 million from 2019-2021 in early education and child development. Adds 2,000 more childcare subsidy slots each year for children from low-income working families to receive high-quality care. Increases NC Pre-K reimbursement rate using lottery proceeds to help more children access Pre-K. Increases Smart Start by 10 percent to support families and children in all 100 counties, including by expanding home visiting programs."
