Upcoming Charlotte Focus Group – March 29, 2018

March 2018

he Child Care and Development Block Grant (CCDBG) is the major source of federal funds for child care subsidy and quality improvement in North Carolina. The Division of Child Development and Early Education (DCDEE) uses the funds to provide child care assistance for families, and to fund initiatives to improve and support the quality of child care. States must develop a three-year plan on how these funds will be spent. DCDEE seeks input from the public to help prepare the 2019-21 Plan. Once the Plan is developed, a public hearing and comment period will be scheduled for further public input.

To assist in gathering preliminary information, DCDEE has scheduled 4 focus groups in March across the state at the locations and times shown below. Participants will be invited to give input on the following topics:
9:30 10:30 Subsidized Child Care
10:30 11:30 Program Standards and Quality Improvement
11:30 12:30 Improving the Supply and Quality of Services for Infants and Toddlers
12:30 1:30 Professional Development Framework

You do not need to register to attend, and there is no cost to attend. For questions regarding the Focus Group Meetings, you may contact DCDEE at 800-859-0829.
