Smart Start of Mecklenburg County is proud to be featured as a State Employees Combined Campaign (SECC) charity!

What does this mean? It all began in 1984 when Governor Jim Hunt, the same Jim Hunt that created the Smart Start Network, created the SECC to strengthen and sustain North Carolina and its citizens. The campaign assures state employees and retirees continuous opportunity to support charitable organizations that are accountable, fiscally sound, and committed to improving quality of life in the state, nation and the world.

All state employees and retirees are eligible to participate. To support Smart Start of Mecklenburg County, state employees are encouraged to give a gift using the designation code, 2329 at the organization's site here.

Smart Start of Mecklenburg County mobilizes resources, forges partnerships, and support families to improve early childhood health, education and development, and ensure children are prepared for kindergarten.
