Greetings from Smart Start of Mecklenburg County! I hope this letter finds you well and enjoying a fun start to the holiday season with friends and family.

Though 2022 did not see a complete return to a post-pandemic "normal" as we had hoped, that did not stop us from working to advance our essential programs and partnerships through Mecklenburg County. We continue to see the various, challenging needs faced by families in our community and are dedicated to working tirelessly to help bring solutions. We could not continue these efforts without the generosity of individuals like you.

Throughout 2022, we have continued to move our mission forward in the community with a focus on our three core pillars, such as:

1. INVESTING |  Smart Start of Mecklenburg County invests time and money in local, evidence-based, and evidence-informed initiatives as a holistic approach to young children and their families.
2. COLLABORATING & CONVENING |  Smart Start of Mecklenburg County is a hub for research and collaboration to improve young children's and their families lives.
3. INNOVATING | Smart Start of Mecklenburg County both funds innovation externally and seeks to serve as an incubator of innovative ideas and practices for the birth-to-five space.

These are just a few examples of how our programs, special initiatives, and staff have worked to improve the lives of children prenatal-to-five in our community throughout the year.
