The Finance Dept oversees the administration and allocations of funds for Smart Start of Mecklenburg County, including budgeting state funds, private grants, donations and fundraisers, fiscal monitoring for direct service providers and in-house programs, prepares for state audits, as well as developing and maintaining contracts. Other functions include payroll and employee benefits. The Mecklenburg Partnership is also a MAC (Multi-Accounting Contract) site, which provides fiscal management for seven other Smart Start partnerships from various counties.
