Smart Start of Mecklenburg County funds a variety of innovative, community-based programs that meet the needs of children five and under, and their families through strong partnerships with collaborating agencies in the community who are direct service providers.  

Every year Smart Start goes through a bidding process to review and approve funding for programs that meet the criteria of Smart Start's objective.  This process usually begins in autumn.
