This program offers education awards and textbooks to child care professionals. All awards (bonuses) are given once a year in June. Please check back on our website for corresponding announcements.
The goal is to improve the quality of child care programs by encouraging achievement of higher education levels by staff members in child care centers and homes.

Four and five-star facilities that accept children who receive subsidized childcare assistance may receive additional financial support to offset the costs of employing and retaining well-educated, appropriately compensated staff.

This program educates the community about Smart Start funded programs through printed publications, public relations, advocacy, community fairs, and collaborations with other agencies, including Smart Start’s website, various online directories and links. The importance of early childhood health, family support, and early care and education are the key messages.
